IG Review

July 23, 2015

Out of the many brokers I have reviewed, IG Markets is rated highly. I personally trade with IG Markets and IG Index, and I love it! As with all my broker reviews I will give an honest review of the broker and their platform...

The Platform

IG's web-based trading platform is very popular amongst IG clients, it has a simple, clear and user friendly interface and I have never had any technical issues. IG and their IG trading platform offer a wide range of instruments including indices, Forex, commodities, ETFs, equities and bonds. Instruments can be traded as CFDs, spread bets, options and ETPs (for equities). At a click of a button you can change your account from CFD trading to spread betting and even to a variety of DMA stock brokering services.

Spreads

Spreads are very tight and some of the most competitive spreads available. Forex spreads get as tight as 0.8 pips on the most popular traded currency pairs and 1 point on the FTSE and DAX. Execution is fast and reliable.

Other Features

IG offer a signal service which is included with standard accounts. The signals offered are provided by Auto Chartist and other signal software providers. They are clear and easy to use.

Summary

The only let down with their platform is that price charts can be quite slow and customisation  is limited compared to competitors. If you have access to separate charting software (such as tradingview), then you have one of the best software stations available to retail traders.
