This Year's Trading Lessons

December 14, 2015

It's nearly Christmas! How exciting! I am hoping that my loved ones enjoy their presents, I am also looking forward to some time in pursuit of some my interests (I am sure much of my time will be spent doing lots of reading, eating, sleeping and visiting with family).

This year has been a great trading year and a good year for lovethepips - my Price Action Forex Trading YouTube channel is growing well and I am pleased with the results from my £8,500-£100,000 trading challenge. Though I have been trading Forex for several years, I am still on a learning curve and feel that I am a better trader now than at the start of the year. My post this week will focus on what I have learnt in 2015...

Trading Books are a Great Source of Experience and Inspiration

I believe I have been reading trading books for the last few years, I think my first trading book purchase was 'Market Wizards' but I can't really remember. Trading books have always been of benefit to me, so readind trading books is nothing new, but this year I have read some excellent trading publications, some have provided insights that have developed my trading and have helped my to become a better trader. This year has also born a reading habit for me, I now buy at least one new trading book each month and always have a trading related book that I am reading, this was not something I did in previous years.

Spread Betting is Worth Consideration

2015 has been the first year that I have ever actively traded a Forex spread betting account. Until now, I was a big CFD trader but being able to use guaranteed stop losses and to have some of my income as tax-free has converted me to spread betting. This has also led me to research other tradeable markets, by the end of next year I also hope to be an active stock trader, as well as a Forex trader.

I have being using 2 Spread Betting Brokers and recommend them both; IG and Core Spreads.

Being a Forex Trader is my Dream Job

It was obvious that Forex Trading was always going to be my dream job, why else would I have pursued trading for so long and have risked so much?! 2015 has really brought this 'home' to me though. This year I have had a couple of nice trading job opportunities as well as other career offers, I honestly considered my choices each time (I am very much a thinker and don't believe in immediate refusal of opportunities) but each opportunity would have taken me away from what I love. Being my own boss, working from home and building my own trading portfolios and trading related incomes is what makes me happy.

Price Action Works Again!

This year has been another proftiable trading year for me and once again price action has been the source of my analysis and the foundation of my trading. Using price action when trading Forex has doubled my portfolio this year and will very likely do so again next year. Another year of profitability using price action and my price action strategies has resulted in even more confidence that price action trading works and that I should continue trading this way.

Goals for Next Year

I have so many trading goals for next year. My strategies will remain the same but I would like to expand the amount of financial products that I trade. I would also like to see lovethepips continue to grow - I have some strict plans to upload more frequent videos, especially for my trading results.
